Lending a hand...many hands!

Great turnout AND great weather yesterday for our service activity with Houses Into Homes--a local nonprofit that provides donated furniture and other basic household items to individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness into a place of their own.

We met at the warehouse to help load the truck and then followed the delivery driver on his route to help unload each person's items. We actually had to split into two separate shifts because there were so many of us!

I *love* that so many of our parish youth (and parents and youth ministry volunteers) were willing to give up part of a sunny Sunday afternoon to lend a hand to some brothers and sisters in need whom they had never met. Praise God, from whom all good things flow.
