Make a spring break pilgrimage wherever you are...

Have you done this week's two-part challenge yet? We already practiced last week with the first part, of doing the daily Mass readings at home. But for the second part, since it's spring break and there's no school, hopefully you'll have the opportunity at least once M-Th to get to a Catholic church, wherever you are!

Remember, you can either go to a daily Mass (this doesn't count for the Sunday Mass, it's "extra"...and it's shorter, typically only 30 min.) or spend some time in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. If you're in town, I've put a document on the Rooted main page that lists the Mass times and Adoration times for the Iowa City area churches. It's also attached here.

Yes, it takes extra effort to get ourselves to a church, at a specific time, instead of just praying where we are and when we feel like it... I get it and it's often hard for me too! But when we do make that time and effort, that sacrifice, to make a little "pilgrimage" to worship and pray in an actual holy place, it's a gift of love to God, and He blesses us in return. Absolutely. We can trust in that, even if we may not always feel the blessing right away. Sometimes it stays hidden for a while and just grows inside of us...but it's there and eventually we will notice it. Especially if those pilgrimages eventually become not just a one-time challenge but a habit!

After you've done the two parts of this week's challenge, don't forget to fill out the form so you can be entered into the drawing for the weekend treats delivery! (Last week's winner was Lily Nibaur, who's out of town right now so she will receive her chosen treat of M&M chocolate chip cookies after spring break.)
