Start the day anew, even at 4 pm

(NOTE: this post also appears on Instagram under @stpatricksyouth... check us out there if you haven't already! Mostly photos but sometimes also little spirit-boosts like this one.)

Tea in my Tigger mug and some unexpected words of encouragement. My frustrated-with-myself afternoon is quickly getting better.

I don't know if the makers of this tea were thinking of St Josemaria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei, when they made this particular tag, but as soon as I saw it I thought of a quotation of his I'd once heard, something about how every day we have the chance to begin again with God.

There may be several sayings of his along those lines, but I looked it up and here's one that I found:

"Spiritual life--and I repeat this again and again, on purpose--a constant beginning and beginning again. Beginning again? Yes. Every time you make an act of contrition--and you should make may every day--you begin again, because you offer a new love to God." (St. Josemaria, The Forge, 384).

Amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit! St. Josemaria Escriva, pray for us.

(and by the way, if you want to really get some extra grace for help with beginning again, St Patrick's does offer Confession every Saturday 3-4 pm!)
