Step up to the ambo!

Yes, YOU can be a lector -- it's fun (well, assuming you're the kind of person who thinks public speaking or acting on stage are fun...) and you can use your gifts to benefit the parish. Not only that, but seeing someone their own age up there, participating in the liturgy with the adults, is an example to other JH/HS students who want to but are feeling shy!

Youth lector training sessions begin Saturday, June 12th--stay after the 4:30 Mass and we'll meet in the church for about 30 minutes. We'll read through one of next week's readings, talk about what it means and how it applies to our lives, and then practice proclaiming it, with coaching from one of the current lectors. We'll also go over some of the nuts & bolts stuff that a lector needs to know (like when to go up, where to find the book, etc.)

Parents who are staying--the Parlor (room with the black couches, next to the office) will be open for you to hang out in if you wish.

Students--you can come to as many of the four summer sessions as you want, and whenever you feel ready you can get on the schedule to start proclaiming the Word at Mass!
