"St Patrick Go!", round two

Our final event of this school year was the "St Patrick Go!" driving scavenger hunt, which we had done for the first time in June of 2020 (at which time it was *super* exciting just to leave the house and to see people's faces in real life!). Certain parishioners who live near the church agreed to let me hide a small St Patrick picture in their front yard, and the students were given a list of addresses and sent out to find all the St Patricks. Whoever made it back first was the winner.

This year, two new elements were added to the game: a surprise snack stop and two selfie stops (with required props). The hats made for some very stylish photos and the magnifying glasses for some pretty silly ones.

Underneath each St Patrick picture was a clue word that the participants were supposed to write down, and at the end they had to put the clue words together in the right order to make a Bible verse from the following weekend's readings.

Everyone was able to unscramble the clue words correctly to make the Bible verse: "Give thanks to the Lord, for His love is everlasting." But the first ones to finish and make it back to the church were a team of recently-graduated-6th graders, now officially old enough to be part of Rooted since they're going to be 7th graders in the fall. As the winners of the game, they got first choice from the prize table (as well as bragging rights). A good time was had by all!
